Meet your Hosts

He was Navy, she was Army, they met and fell in love…while it sounds like the plot to a bad Hallmark movie, that’s the true story behind Chris and Debbie! After getting married, they moved around a bit with the Navy but ended up choosing to settle in Ellsworth, Maine. Inspired by his own childhood family vacations to Downeast, he knew that’s where he wanted to raise his family. Four kids now grown, running a BNB is a retirement dream come true for them.

Helping manage the property is the eldest, Maureen. Based in Colorado, but regularly back in Maine, she manages the website and AirBNB bookings and communications. She’s a professional climber, and was absolutely inspired to pursue that life because of growing up on the craggy Downeast coast.

The family has lived in the same house in Ellsworth since 1993, and has no plans of changing that anytime soon. Even though the kids have moved out, it’s still a full family affair, with two of the kids helping manage the property so Mom and Dad can also enjoy some trips and visits to other BNB’s on their own time.

Also helping with the BNB is Michael, the eldest of three boys. He helped with the restoration of the house, and lives just a half hour away from where he grew up. Michael does much of the on site management and maintenance. He is also a re-enactor with the 20th Maine Civil War reenactment group, based out of Fort Knox in Bucksport.
