A Historic Home Gets a Second Chance
Built in 1900, the stately home stood over the boom town county hub of Ellsworth. When the Whalley’s moved to Ellsworth in the early 90’s, they settled into the ‘house next door’. The Pine Street house was owned by dear neighbors, who let the neighborhood kids play and build forts in the spacious backyard. After a time, age and health issues caught up to the owners, and the home fell into disrepair.
In 2018, Chris acquired the building and began a slow and meticulous renovation process, moving his office into one of the bedrooms while he and a crew worked to restore the beautiful home to its former glory. At the time, the house had severe water damage, foundation issues, a bad roof, and was woefully out of date for modern living.
Along with restoring the living spaces to their Victorian Roots, the family spends time collecting antiques and historic art to decorate the BNB with - every piece in the home has a story. Many items are available for purchase - if you see something that catches your eye, just ask!
